住建部注冊造價工程師（簡稱“造價師”）是指經住建部認定，具有一定職業資格條件，經考試合格并獲得國家批準的職業技術人員，從事造價工作的人員，是注冊造價工程師的職業資格的象征。

造價師的資格考試是由住建部頒布的《關于實施注冊造價工程師考試的規定》（住建部令第288號）所規定。考試由住建部指定的考試機構組織，分為兩個部分：理論考試和實操考試。考試形式分別為筆試和實操考試。考試科目包括法律法規，造價管理，工程造價，建設預算，財務經濟，計算機等。

造價師的資格考試成績合格者，住建部將給予“中國住建部注冊造價工程師證書”，以證明其具有注冊造價工程師的職業資格。只有擁有該證書，才能參加注冊造價工程師的培訓和實踐活動。

The examination is organized by the examination agency designated by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, which is divided into two parts: theoretical examination and practical examination. The examination forms are written examination and practical examination. The examination subjects include laws and regulations, cost management, engineering cost, construction budget, finance and economics, computer and so on.

For those who pass the qualification examination of the cost engineer, the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development will issue the "China Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development Registered Cost Engineering Technician Certificate" to prove that they have the professional qualifications of the registered cost engineering technician. Only those with the certificate can participate in the training and practice activities of the registered cost engineering technician.
